“Spag bol” is the ugliest bit of slang in the English language. Way to take a tasty dish and make it sound like a swamp monster out of Eastern European folklore, people who shorten words. Spag Bol sounds like a Ukrainian swampbeast who can only be defeated by the sound of a rooster crowing, but even then unless you shove a potato in his mouth he’ll rise again at dusk to stalk the lowlands, all greasy hair and snaggle-teeth, ripping babies from their beds and teaching them to be tax inspectors.
